Rally Weekend Living in Faith Together (LIFT)

Hello Gloria Dei,

This weekend we are rallying. No, not because the NFL season is kicking off. We are rallying for a much more important and enduring reason.

John 3:16 says it well. “For God so loved the world that he gave his only Son, that whosoever believes in him will not perish, but will have everlasting life.”

God’s love is a love that runs deep. It is a love that gives life. It is the love that puts us back into a right relationship with God through faith in Christ. And it is a love that draws us together as a congregation as we experience “Living in Faith Together”.

This weekend we will celebrate God’s love in worship, with our choirs singing and ringing at both Sunday services. Church School gets started for all of the kids too. If you need to register your children, please stop in the hallway at Church School time and see Lara near the big map. She’ll be ready for you.

In addition to worship and Church School, we will have two Food Trucks. Kota Café will be serving amazing breakfast burritos, and Mac and Cheese will be serving… wait for it… Mac and Cheese. The food trucks will be serving from 9:30 to Noon on Sunday.

This Wednesday our fall Wednesday worship resumes at 6:00 p.m., along with regular Wednesday programming, including Church School, Confirmation, Youth Group, and more.

And if you haven’t heard by now, we will be working our way through all 27 books of the New Testament over the next twelve months. We are starting in the book of Mark. You can find reading schedules on our website or pick one up at the Welcome Center at church.

In preparation for worship this week, please read Mark chapters one and two. If you’d like even more, go to our website and watch a video centered on these chapters. Every week on Thursday mornings, a new video will be posted.

Thanks for Rallying around God’s love this weekend and always. As we live in faith together, let’s remain fully engaged in our walk with Jesus.

See you in worship,

Pastor Tim
