RENEW Isaiah 40:31

“Those who hope in the Lord shall RENEW their strength. They shall soar on wings like eagles; they shall run and not grow weary.” –Isaiah 40:31

In addition to the verse quoted above, I’ll be preaching this weekend on the great Scriptural account of Jesus feeding the 5000 with just 5 loaves of bread and two fish. Within this miracle we see those who are hungry being fed both spiritually and physically. They are fed spiritually by being in the presence of Jesus. They hear his preaching and teaching, and as such, they discover what true life is all about within the very Kingdom of God. They are RENEWED.

They are fed physically as well. Seeing the crowds, Jesus has compassion on them. Miraculously, there is plenty of food to go around. All go home well fed. This is a reminder that God cares about our physical well-being also.

We at Gloria Dei are fortunate to know a God who meets our spiritual and physical needs. During this month of Thanksgiving, we can and do give thanks for so many blessings of RENEWAL.

I ask you to pray this week about your financial giving to Gloria Dei. Coming through the past couple of years has been challenging in so many ways, yet we remain strong in our commitment to be and to make disciples of Jesus. We remain strong in our commitment to be gospel-centered and to proclaim the Good News of Jesus to all. And we remain strong in our commitment to join with God in taking care of one another, both within and outside of this congregation, spiritually and physically.

This weekend in worship we all will have opportunity to make our financial pledges to God’s work at Gloria Dei for the year 2022. YOU ARE NEEDED. You know of the wonderful, Holy Spirit Filled Ministry that happens here. Through your time, talent, and resources, this church will continue to join with Christ in feeding people with the good news of the gospel and by showing the compassion and care that first comes to us in Jesus.

God is continually renewing each one of us. Each day we are loved, forgiven, and set free from sin and death because of Christ. Our giving is in response to God’s immeasurable love for us. Our very lives, and all that we have, are gifts from God. We are called in Scripture to give back to the work of Christ through His church.

If you are unable to be present in worship this weekend, please make your financial pledge here, or by going to our website using the RENEW logo to find the Estimate of Giving Form.

As you make your Estimates of Giving for the coming year, it blesses thousands of people while assisting us in preparing for the ministry to which God is calling us together.

I thank God for you as together we join in the mission and ministry of Jesus Christ. Lord Renew us. Lord use us. In Jesus’ name.

See you in worship!

Pastor Tim
