Worship at Gloria Dei Saturdays 5:00pm, Sundays 9:00am and 10:30am

Keep the Campfires Burning

We are excited that over the next three weeks at Gloria Dei we will be lifting up, praying for, and raising money for the Lutherans Outdoors of South Dakota Camping Ministry. The pandemic year has caused a shortfall in revenue for the camps, and Gloria Dei, along with all the congregations of the South Dakota Synod, will participate in the “Keep The Campfires Burning” fundraising campaign.

Within worship these next three weekends we will hear from Gloria Dei member Mary DeVany about the importance of camping ministry and of this campaign. We will also see a few videos that highlight the vibrancy of the camping mission.

Lutherans Outdoors of South Dakota operates three separate camps: NeSoDak (Enemy Swim Lake in NE South Dakota) Klein Ranch (North Central SD, West of Mobridge), and Outlaw Ranch (Black Hills, East of Custer). Each of these camps offers tremendous opportunities for children, youth, and adults of all ages to enjoy the beauty of God’s creation and to have faith strengthened and nurtured in fellowship with others. In addition, LOSD camping ministry is Christ-Centered and provides Christian leadership skills for counselors and campers alike.

The financial goal of this campaign is to raise $1.2 Million. Members of Gloria Dei will be receiving a brochure in the mail, along with a pledge card. I ask that you keep the camping ministry in your prayers, and that you consider making a gift to the upcoming campaign. The Gloria Dei Church Council will also be discussing the level of gift we are able to make on behalf of the congregation.

If you would like further information, please visit Lutherans Outdoors “Keep the Campfires Burning” campaign page. Thank you for your consideration.

For worship this weekend we continue our series “Do You Believe in Miracles?” Please read Exodus 16:14-35.

See you in worship, either in person or online. Livestream worship is Sunday at 9:00 a.m.
