Worship at Gloria Dei Saturdays 5:00pm, Sundays 9:00am and 10:30am

Thank You All

Members and friends of Gloria Dei, I want to take this opportunity to say a big word of thanks to all of you. First of all, for your patience, understanding, and great spirit through this past year and a half. The COVID 19 time has been challenging, to say the least, but you have continued your commitment to the work of God at Gloria Dei.

For all your prayers; for all your phone calls to fellow members and friends; for your willingness to join ministry and worship through Zoom and online; for your appreciation of our staff for their hard work; for your strong financial giving; and for the countless number of volunteer-hours you give to keep this faith community alive, spirited, mission-minded, and filled with a servant heart… I say THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU!

We are all truly blessed by this dedicated and talented family of faith. As the Bible tells us, “We are blessed to be a blessing”. Thousands upon thousands of people are blessed by you and your commitment to Christ. Thank you!

Gloria Dei is an active congregation. It takes lots of hands to keep things running smoothly. I want to let you know of some possible ways you can get involved.

The following volunteer opportunities are needs that are for right now or in the near future. This is not an exhaustive list, but I plan on lifting up our volunteer needs more regularly, so stay tuned. For now,

Audio / Visual needs. Audio and computers are used at all our worship services. We also use livestreaming technology at some services to communicate God, His Word and Message beyond the walls at Gloria Dei to the world. This is a fun, behind the scenes opportunity that allows you to build friendships and knowledge about how things work. Serving needs are approximately 1 to 2 times per month.

Children, Youth & Family needs. Volunteers needed this summer for Vacation Bible School and Dei Camp at Gloria Dei. Ongoing needs for the summer and into the school year are Nursery Attendants, Church School Teachers/Helpers, Craft Cutting and Sorting for classrooms, waiting with kids at school for our Wednesday bus to arrive, Snack Helpers, Bus Drivers, and much more.

Facility Needs. Assist our superb custodial crew with lawn mowing, or other duties in and around the church buildings.

Worship and Music. Readers, Ushers, Communion Assistants in worship. And we’re always open to have more and more people in our choirs, praise teams, bell choir, and music ensembles.

And the list could go on and on. I will include other opportunities and needs in upcoming Friday Followings. For now, if you are interested in helping, or getting more information, please reply to this email (replies go to our Office Staff). Or call the church office and we will assist you.

A Masking Expectation Change. In conjunction with the new CDC guidelines, and in consultation with our Church Council, our masking requirements will change. Gloria Dei will continue to have masks available for worship, but they will no longer be required. If you feel more comfortable with a face-covering, especially if you have not been vaccinated, please continue to wear one.

Again, thank you for the life-giving ministry that you are a part of at Gloria Dei and I’ll see you in worship, either in-person or online. This weekend’s focus will be on one of the great characters in the book of Genesis: Joseph.
