Worship at Gloria Dei Saturdays 5:00pm, Sundays 9:00am and 10:30am

This and That

Hello Gloria Dei,

I am so glad that more and more people are feeling comfortable enough to come back to in-person worship. More and more are being vaccinated. More and more are feeling safe. Praise God.

And along with that, I’ve had these questions posed many times “When will we be able to not wear masks in worship? And when will be able to stop sitting in every other row in the sanctuary?” Great questions. So glad you asked.

Our church council met this past Tuesday evening and among many other items, we discussed these questions. We have decided to allow enough time to go by so that everyone in our community who wants a vaccine, has had the opportunity to receive it. That time is coming quickly.

So, without giving an exact date, please know we are monitoring the situation; we are paying attention to CDC guidelines; and we are talking with local health care providers. We will keep you well informed. Again, that time is coming quickly, but in the meantime, thank you for your patience and for your willingness to continue to be diligent in this time of pandemic.

A few reminders:
  • The 9:00 a.m. Sunday worship service is always livestreamed
  • We still have many opportunities for you to sponsor a child through our partnership with Mission Haiti. Call or email Pastor Chris for more details.
  • Two upcoming staff retirement events:
Thank You Event Celebrating Judi Schwerin: Sunday April 25 at 11:30 a.m.
Thank You Reception Celebrating Gail Wilcox: Sunday May 2 in between services at 10:00 a.m.

We are continuing our series on the Characters in Genesis. This week we learn lessons from Noah and the Ark. In preparation for worship this weekend please read Genesis chapters 6 through 9. See you in worship, online or in person!
