Heavenly Harmonies Children’s Christmas Program
Each year Gloria Dei is blessed during this time of year by a Children’s Christmas Program. And while this year, 2020, is very different in many ways, we want to share with you the message of Christmas through our children. Our prayer is that this will bring you much joy as you celebrate the birth of the Christ-child. I want to thank all those involved in getting this ready for us this year. At the end of the video you will see those involved in the list of credits. Thanks to the kids and adults. What a blessing this is to all of us. Please contact Gloria Dei to request the link.
One request: If you would like to share the requested link with family and friends, that is just fine. But out of privacy and respect, please don’t post on your public social media platforms. Thank you!

Service of Hope and Remembrance
We know this time of year is joyful as we celebrate the birth of Jesus and God among us. Yet we also know that there are many of us who are grieving some kind of loss. As such, Christmas joy is accompanied by sadness and grief.

The Congregational Care Ministry Team is offering a Christmas Service of Hope and Remembrance this Saturday, December 12, at 5:00 p.m. Please know you are welcome and invited to come and worship in person, or online be clicking here. Together we will hear words and music filled with hope and thanksgiving. God is with us and upholds us always.

Advent Cantata
This Sunday, December 13, at both the 9:00 and 10:30 a.m. services, join us for our annual Advent Cantata. Our smaller, socially distanced ensembles will sing, ring, and play music that celebrates the expected coming of Christ. This year will feature two new ensembles; our guitar ensemble gathering us in to worship and our adult piano ensemble. Stick around to hear their exciting, 4-way mash up postlude! Music intertwined with Advent bible readings will make this a worship experience centered on the coming of Christ into our midst. Remember, the 9:00 a.m. service is livestreamed.

Christmas Eve, December 24
We are planning multiple options for Christmas Eve worship. Due to the pandemic things will be a bit different this year. Nonetheless, we will celebrate Christ’s birth in the following manner.

Nativity on the Go with a Live Nativity, in the Gloria Dei parking lot.
1:30 to 3:30 p.m. on Thursday December 24
Come anytime during these two hours to this drive thru Christmas experience for everyone. Stay in the warmth of your vehicle as you read the Christmas Story in a brand-new way. All Are Welcome! Enter the parking lot at the intersection of 54th and Dubuque Ave.

In Person Worship.
5:00, 6:00, 7:00, 8:00 p.m.
The in-person worship experiences will be approximately 30 minutes in length. They will include singing of Christmas Carols by our song leaders, Holy Communion, and Candle-Lighting. The Christmas account from Luke’s gospel will be read.

In order to provide for adequate distancing among worshipers, we need to limit the number of people at each service. Therefore, these in person services will require pre-registrations from Gloria Dei members. Use the following link to sign up. Thank you for helping us be as safe as possible while we gather together by signing up and by wearing face-coverings in worship.
