Worship at Gloria Dei Saturdays 5:00pm, Sundays 9:00am and 10:30am

Thank You Gloria Dei!

Hello Gloria Dei,

Two messages for you today.

First: A Big Thank You!  This congregation, while belonging to God, is powered by all of you and the countless numbers of volunteer hours you provide for this ministry. I won’t list all the ways you give of your time and energy to this ministry, because it would be a list that would go on for pages and pages. However, just ponder for a few moments all of the mission and ministry that goes on here. You are making it happen, all to the glory of God.

And in addition to time and talent, your generous financial support allows us to impact thousands, both near and far, with the good news of God’s love in Jesus Christ. Thank you. As you know, this weekend is Stewardship, or Consecration weekend at Gloria Dei. We will have opportunity in worship to make our estimates of financial giving for 2021. Many of you have done this already by sending in your cards, or by filling out the card electronically. I thank you, as does the church council, as together we stay strong for the future. Please pray about your level of giving and return your card either in worship, or via mail, or through this link. Again, thank you!

Second: We continue to keep an eye on the increasing case numbers and hospitalizations happening in our community because of COVID-19. We are in very regular communication with health care officials. It has been good for Gloria Dei to offer in-person worship and other activities over these past few months, all being done as safely as possible. I need to be honest with you that there is a chance we will need to take another pause from in-person gatherings if cases continue to rise. I thank you for the caution you are taking by continuing to social distance and to wear face-coverings. And while we don’t have any firm new decisions at this point, the church council is monitoring this closely.

Please keep Gloria Dei, as well as all churches, in your prayers. Pray too for our country and the world as this pandemic continues to wreak havoc. We are called to love our neighbors as ourselves. I take great comfort in knowing that Jesus is Lord.

For this weekend’s worship, please read Matthew 25:14-30.

We are together in Christ,

Pastor Tim
