Worship at Gloria Dei Saturdays 5:00pm, Sundays 9:00am and 10:30am

Hello Gloria Dei,

Over these next two weekends we are so blessed to have a large group of 9th graders making public profession of their faith in Jesus as Savior and Lord of their lives. We call this confirmation… a profound confirming of God’s promises made to them at their baptisms.

The church’s mission, above and beyond anything else, is to be bold about proclaiming the great news of God’s love for this world. And in that proclamation to have people come to faith. The Holy Spirit is at work in powerful ways in all of our lives, but it’s so great to give witness to these young adults proclaim their faith in God. As Christians we are called to pass on the faith. Praise be to God.

This weekend we also celebrate the Protestant Reformation. Upon rediscovering the great news of God’s never-failing love and grace, Martin Luther was ecstatic! Justified by God’s grace! Salvation as a pure unmerited gift! Christ has done all that is necessary for our salvation! Amazing News! As Jesus says, “You will know the truth and the truth will set you free.” Live in the radical freedom of being claimed and chosen by God. Let it launch you into the joy-filled arena of service to others. “Yes. Thanks be to God.”

One final note. With confirmation comes more people in the sanctuary for worship. We are so happy about that. But we are asking that everyone wear a mask at all services over these next two weekends. Thanks for loving your neighbor in this way and keeping everyone as safe and healthy as possible.

See you in worship!

Pastor Tim
