A World of Difference

At Gloria Dei Lutheran Church, we place our highest priority on those in our community or world who have need of hearing the Gospel and receiving Christian compassion. At the same time we emphasize service to our community and the strengthening of families.

Gloria Dei is committed to reaching beyond its walls in ministry to the local community in partnership with the South Dakota Synod, as well as serving in the world. We live out the Biblical calling of Jesus, “You will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, Judea, Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.” (Acts 1:8)

Supporting Companion Churches
A team of Gloria Dei members travels to Nicaragua every year for a Medical Mission. We sponsor missionaries, Train Up a Child, and other parts of the mission work in Cameroon.

Serving our Lord by Serving Others in Sioux Falls
Our members volunteer to serve at The Banquet, Heartland House, Furniture Mission, St. Francis Huse, LIfelight, and Habitat for Humanity, and worship with the inmates at the South Dakota State Penitentiary.

Providing Support & Encouragement on the Rosebud Indian Reservation
We have a long-standing relationship with Grace Episcopal Church at Soldier Creek on the Rosebud Reservation. We provide propane, building repairs, and a Christmas Gift project.

Reaching out into the world
Our Monthly Partnership Ministries invite the congregation to steady involvement in God’s mission beyond our membership.  Two quilting groups provide needed items for Lutheran World Relief and local needs.
