Our Mission
What are we being called to do?
It is today that the Lord is calling us to do great things through Gloria Dei. He is guiding us on a mission of great urgency. He is calling us to grow so that we can serve others. But why Gloria Dei? We are in a unique position in our community to respond to the needs of a growing population yearning for God’s love. Together we’re a family building that dream and to meeting those needs, Living in God’s Word.
Where did we start?
The mission of Gloria Dei is rooted in its history of faithful work and witness. Begun as a new mission start of the American Lutheran Church (ALC) in 1984, Gloria Dei was formally organized as a congregation in April 1985. A church of nearly 50 families has grown to a baptized membership of more than 2,000 in just 23 years. Our congregation has helped feed the hungry, house the homeless, heal the hurting. We currently have 650 children in our church membership; certainly, we have done much, Living Out God’s Love.
